Today is the kind of day where I take out my craft box (really unorganized craft box) and brainstorm what I can make with odds and ends.

By the way, never throw away your scraps from a previous craft. You never know what a little string can do for your next project.

I love these days because my creativity really comes out when I don’t have a plan in mind.

I noticed that my entryway wall is totally bare, so I decided to whip out the hot glue gun and craft a wall hanging.

Bring out your yarn, fabric, beads, string, or anything else you have on hand. Lay everything out on a table and visualize what you want your hanging to look like.

Maybe your living room color scheme is red? Use some red yarn. If your bedroom is decorated in bright green, then some beige beads will go great with the wall.

I am more of a rustic kind of gal, so I started cutting and gluing and I’m super happy with how my DIY rustic wall decor came out. I hope this will help your craft come to light and look, oh so pretty!

I won’t tell you what supplies to use since this is a DIY craft made from scraps. It’s yours, it’s you, and it’s what your heart desires. But I used stuff like woven string, woven yarn, hemp, lace, beige beads, brown beads, turquoise beads, and a few charms.

The scraps I used are actually from my wedding boots I made and designed a year ago. So cool.

I started with popsicle sticks where I glued all my pieces onto. One long and two short sticks.

First glue the background you wish to use. I used some kind of hemp that is already intertwined.

Then glue on all your little nick nacks such as beads, charms, etc. This is the fun part! Let your imagination run wild.

Find something that is thick so you can hide all your hot glue adhesives. Luckily I had a wide piece made out of yarn that was woven already. Glue your piece on making sure you cover the whole popsicle stick.

Now for the hanging part. Mine are hung from hemp string, but you can use yarn or regular string. Cut a long piece and glue the two ends to the back of the popsicle sticks. Making sure you glue at the end of the sticks.

And that’s it!

Now my entryway is not so boring and is decorated with a style I adore.

What do you think?

Are you going to try your own? If so, comment in the section below. I would love to hear what scraps you used!
